Meghalaya in Monsoon: Is It Worth the Trip?
Cherrapunji gets some of the heaviest rainfall on Earth — here's what that actually means for a Shillong-Cherrapunji trip, and how our tempo traveller routes work around it.
Read StoryA large share of our Tawang bookings now come from groups flying into Guwahati from Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune — most of them planning this trip for the first time. Here are the questions that come up on almost every call.
Yes, if you're starting from Guwahati. Our standard itinerary is Guwahati → Tezpur → Dirang → Tawang, with a full day at Tawang itself for the monastery, Madhuri Lake and (permit allowing) Bumla Pass, then the return leg. Trying to compress it into 5 days means losing your buffer day for weather — Sela Pass closes without much notice.
Yes — Arunachal Pradesh requires an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Indian citizens, and foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) arranged well in advance. We assist with the ILP paperwork as part of the tour package; share ID documents ahead of your travel date and we'll have it ready.
Tawang itself sits around 10,000 ft, and Sela Pass is higher still. We build in acclimatisation stops and keep the pace realistic rather than rushing between altitudes — if anyone in your group has a heart or respiratory condition, do mention it when booking so we can plan accordingly.
Share your group size and travel window — we'll walk you through the itinerary, permits and vehicle before you book anything.
